The AlgoLaser range

• DIY KIT MK3 (8W, 15W, 20W) — open-frame diode engravers; the practical starting point for wood, leather, acrylic and card.
• Alpha MK2 (20W, 40W) — higher power for faster engraving and thicker cutting.
• Pixi — compact desktop machines, including a 1064nm infrared version for marking metal and plastic.
• Accessories — rotary rollers and chucks for cups and cylinders, honeycomb plates, air pumps, risers and cameras.

Choosing laser power

Lower-power diode lasers engrave well and cut thin material; higher power cuts thicker wood and acrylic in fewer passes. Diode lasers mark coated or anodised metal, while infrared lasers are the type used to mark bare metal. Always use the correct laser safety glasses and ventilate the work area.
