Bambu Lab's A1 Mini, A1 and P1S are the three printers most buyers in Bangladesh end up choosing between. They share the same fast, largely automatic workflow, so the decision comes down to three things: how big you need to print, which materials you need, and whether you want multi-colour. This guide compares them with current Costareen prices.

Some models are listed in more than one version (CH, CN or Global) at different prices. The printing hardware is the same class of machine; ask us which version suits you before you order.

Bambu Lab A1 Mini: the first printer for most people

The A1 Mini is small enough for a study desk and is the cheapest way into the Bambu Lab system. It levels its own bed, calibrates itself and prints quickly out of the box, which is exactly what a first-time user needs.

Choose it if: you are a student, hobbyist or teacher printing models, small parts, gifts and school projects, and most of what you print fits inside an 18 cm cube.

Think twice if: you already know you want helmets, large enclosures or long parts. Splitting models into pieces and gluing them gets tiring quickly.

Bambu Lab A1: the same ease, more than double the space

The A1 has a 256 mm build area in each direction — nearly three times the volume of the A1 Mini — and a bed that heats to a higher temperature, which helps with PETG. It is still an open-frame printer, so it is at its best with PLA, PLA+, PETG and TPU.

Choose it if: you want one printer that will not feel small in six months. For small businesses selling printed products, labs and serious hobby use, the A1 is the value pick.

Bambu Lab P1S: enclosed, for engineering materials

The P1S has the same build size as the A1 but uses a CoreXY motion system inside a closed chamber. The enclosure keeps heat in, and that is what makes ABS and ASA printable without warping and cracking. It also keeps dust out and noise down.

Choose it if: you need heat-resistant or outdoor parts, jigs and fixtures for a factory floor, or a machine that runs long jobs every day in a workshop.

You do not need it if: you only plan to print PLA and PETG. The A1 prints those just as well for much less money.

For the newest enclosed option, see the Bambu Lab P2S Combo.

Combo or not? What AMS actually gives you

"Combo" means the printer comes with Bambu Lab's automatic material system: AMS lite on the A1 series, AMS on the P1S. Both hold four spools and switch between them automatically.

Multi-colour prints — up to four colours in one model without stopping the printer.

Automatic spool change — when one spool runs out, the printer continues with the next. Useful for long overnight jobs.

Different support material — cleaner undersides on complicated parts.

Colour printing wastes some filament on every colour change, so it costs more per print. If you only print single-colour functional parts, buy the standard printer and put the difference into filament. If you sell decorative items, nameplates, toys or figures, the Combo usually pays for itself.

Things to plan for in Bangladesh

Power cuts: a long print can be interrupted by load-shedding. Bambu Lab printers can resume after a power loss, but a small UPS is cheap insurance for long jobs.

Humidity: filament absorbs moisture. Budget for a sealed box and silica gel from day one.

Running cost: a 1kg spool of SUNLU PLA+ starts at ৳1,550 and makes a lot of small parts. See our filament price and buying guide.

Warranty and support: buy from a seller who handles warranty locally and will answer when a print fails.
